Saturday Morning Rides is a beautiful little book written and illustrated by Bill Metz, a long-time rider with the Northfield Bike Club. In this book you will find a collection of essays about what bicycling means to Bill (and many of us in the club), art inspired by the local landscape and roads, detailed descriptions of more than a dozen road rides starting and ending in Northfield, and accompanying maps done in Bill's signature style.
The book was inspired by, and is dedicated to, Nick Sansome, a member of our club who took his own life in the late winter of 2003. The book has been printed twice and all proceeds from the sales have gone to SAVE, an organization dedicated to the prevention of suicide through education and the raising of public awareness.
All the printed copies of Saturday Morning Rides have been sold, but we are making an electronic copy available through this web site. This is a copyrighted work and it is being made availble in this form with the hope and expectation that it will continue to raise funds for SAVE.
